GONG weaning pens are available in AISI 304 stainless steel — the gold standard for livestock equipment in wet, chemically demanding environments. Its non-porous surface resists the corrosive agents present in manure and disinfectants, maintaining structural integrity over many years of intensive use. Where a lower-cost option is required, galvanised iron tube and rod sections provide robust performance; injection-moulded plastic components are used for feed-trough surrounds, gates and pen dividers where contact with feed or water demands the highest hygiene standards. All flooring is manufactured from specialist perforated plastic, designed to support the small hooves of weaning piglets while allowing rapid slurry drainage below.
